Marbelized Glass Marble Ring

My new big, blue ring. <3 <3 <3

While getting dressed last week I noticed a gap in my jewelry collection. I needed a blue and silver statement ring. Well...I did! I looked through all of my craft supplies and couldn't find a single blue thing that would work. So, I made something. I keep a jar of glass marbles for various crafts. Perfect! This project is pretty easy. The hardest part is waiting for everything to dry. I can be so impatient sometimes!
Ingredients:
  • Pad ring base
  • Flat backed glass marble
  • Acrylic paints
  • Toothpick
  • Mod Podge
  • E6000

The ingredients.

I used three different paint colors for this ring; silver, teal, and robin's egg blue. Place dots of each color randomly over the flat side of the marble.

Add dots of color to the flat side of the marble.

Use a toothpick to swirl the colors together.

Swirly!

Let it dry. Watch a TV show. Seal the back with Mod Podge or your favorite sealer.

Seal the back.

Let that dry. Grab a snack.

Glue the marble to the ring. Easy!

Glue the ring to the flat side of the marble with E600 or your favorite very strong glue. Let it dry. Do your laundry.

The back. Wonder what the front look like!

Enjoy your fab and super cheap new ring. I know I do!

Love!

I paid a grand total of 75¢, give or take. I found the ring base for half off at a craft store. The rest I had on hand (forgive the bad pun).

  1. Shut up! Now this is just getting to be too ridiculous! Is there anything you can't do? I never realized until just this moment the huge gap in my jewelry collection. Way to go YOU!

  3. LOL You just made me snort Coke Zero! Thanks a bunch, Holly. :-) For the record, I can't sew. I really can't. It's sad and pathetic at this point. I know my sewing machine is secretly mocking me and threatening me from beneath my craft table.
