excerpt
Jericho strode to the balustrade, gripping the gray stones with white knuckled intensity as he gazed downward through the canvas of darkness and pin bursts of stars, peering into the magical realm beneath him. Moonglow lit his corner of the castle. Once, long ago, he’d been a shepherd riding the rugged and peaked plains of sheep country. Alive and normal. But everything changed the day he’d found her. The beautifully stunning woman draped in a glowing gown of buttery gold. He’d stopped in a sheltered grove to give his horse—Midnight—a chance to drink. That’s when he’d seen the blond haired goddess, she’d been dipping her toes in the pond. At the sight of her bare feet and the gown that had fitted her like second skin, he’d fallen immediately under her spell. Her big, luminous tawny eyes had captivated him. The rosebud lips and high, slashing cheekbones. The slender column of her throat, every inch of her was built for seduction. Proper women of his day didn’t dress like her. Didn’t let the long length of their curls tumble down around the head and shoulders, or wear a diaphanous gown that hid nothing of the curves beneath. If he’d been smart, he’d have known something wasn’t right about the woman in gold. But as was often the case with him back then, it’d merely taken the sight of a beautiful woman to make him forget every bit of common sense he’d ever possessed. She’d opened her arms out to him and they’d slept together. He hadn’t known he’d be sealing his doom, hadn’t known that sleeping with the sun would burn… hadn’t known that things like fairy tales could actually exist. Sighing, he peered into the endless expanse of sky, heart longing to see the bejeweled beauty of land. Darkness, it belonged to him now. He could never walk the daylight hours. What Siria hadn’t told him when she’d taken him into her body was that she’d marked him, turned him into a man of myth and legend. That every five hundred years a new man would be chosen. Jericho had gone from being a humble shepherd, to being the Man in the Moon. Locked away forever in this part of the castle. Only allowed to walk the land of Kingdom on the thirtieth day of the month, during the turning of the lunar cycle. Only once a month could his feet touch land.

She's married to the love of her life, a sexy beast of a caveman who likes to refer to himself as Big Hunk.   about author Marie Hall is a USA Today Bestselling Author and has always held a dangerous fascination for creatures that go bump in the night. And mermaids. And of course fairies. Trolls. Unicorns. Shapeshifters. Vampires. Scottish brogues. Kilts. Beefy arms. Ummm... Bad boys! Especially the sexy ones. Then the day came she realized apart from the sexy bad boy she married, there'd be no vampires/shapeshifters/mermaids/fairies/or even stinky trolls in her future unless she wrote about them. More often than not she can be found roaming the wild, lush tropical forest she calls her backyard (a.k.a. Hawaii) and day dreaming constantly about her latest project. Her Mad Hatter is the first book of her Kingdom Series. She loves to hear from her readers and can be reached at MarieHallWrites@gmail.com! Tooth Fairy Pillow

Zara's tooth is loose!!! That kid needed a pillow ready for when that finally happens, so I whipped this up out of felt. I used felt so I wouldn't have to deal with fraying and interfacing.

The tooth is a pocket to hold the tooth and Zara's money from the Tooth Fairy. Zara picked out all of the colors. I think it turned out really cute.

What are your Tooth Fairy traditions? Also, I can post the templates if you want. Let me know in the comments below.

Thanks for reading!

Cameron Jace

Here's my biography below, where I'm supposed to say something cool about me, which I'm really terrible at. Things you might want to know about me: I write books that I can't find elsewhere, basically to amuse himself. Everything I do is for fun, so don't take me seriously, and never call me a writer. I hate that. I prefer the word: Storyteller. I am also full of flaws, but I'm improving everyday. If you like my books, horaaaay! I luv ya too. If ya don't, hoooray! Now we know in advance that this relationship isn't going to work. Although my books are ordinary on the surface, they hold many secrets that I might reveal one day. What matters the most to me are characters struggling to find their identities in the world. Things you don't need to know: I celebrate my birthday twice a year, the day I was born and Friday the 13th. I want to live in a bubble house, and I thinks circles are way cooler than triangles. I like boats, beaches, bears, beards, bears, bananas, bars, barfights, beans, bikes, bones, butter, babes, bakery, blizzards, and pirates ( I thought it was spelled Birates when I was a kid. ) Follow me: www.facebook.com/camjace twitter.com/cameronjace www.goodreads.com/CameronJace

A Few Favorite Things

Loving my sparkly skull cup
& all things pumpkin!

Hey, all! I don't know about you, but I love it when people share what they're crushing on. Sometimes I even pick up whatever they're raving about. I thought I'd share a few things I'm loving right now.

Cinnamon Bun Candle by Bakery Fresh

This candle is awesome. It's strong enough to fill my office with its yummy cinnamon bun scent. On top of that, it was only $1.50 at Dollar General. I'll definitely be picking up some more.

Gelous Advanced Nail Gel Coat

Maybelline Color Show Polka Dots Nail Polish

I have two nail products I love right now. The Gelous Gel Coat (Sally Beauty Supply, approx. $6) mimics a gel manicure without the hefty price and UV rays. It makes my manis last about a week, which is saying a lot. I'm tough on my nails. I use it for both base coat and top coat.

The Maybelline Polka Dots (Walmart, approx. $2.50) is just a novelty top coat. The cute part is that it looks like paint splatters. It needs a top coat over it to get the dots to stick around for a while, otherwise, according to reports, they pop off easily.

Sonia Kashuk Lash & Brow Comb

This Sonia Kashuk Lash and Brow Comb (Target, approx. $5) is seriously the best comb brush I have ever used. The metal bristles get inbetween lashes so much better than the traditional plastic ones do. It gets rid of clumps and separates lashes. The brow brush is okay. It's a bit stiffer than I like. I adore how it all folds down to around three inches and is perfect for traveling. I've broken so many of the traditional ones that I've lost count. One caveat - the metal bristles are sharp, so be careful!

McDonald's Pumpkin Spice Latte

What is Autumn without a pumpkin spice latte? Don't tell Starbucks or Sheetz, but McDonald's makes my favorite. It seems to have more flavor than the others. I'm in love!

What are some of the things you're into?

Joining the Cronut craze

Om nom!
My darling husband Sean rarely mentions new junk foods, but he was intrigued enough by the cronut to tell me about it. I had seen cronuts online, but, of course, there are none here. If you haven't heard yet, they're the new dessert that's a cross between a croissant and a doughnut. Hence cronuts. I'm not prepared to spend all that time making croissant dough, however I have no problems picking up a can of pre-made croissant dough at my local grocery store. And that's what makes this so easy.  (Easy to make; not easy so on your waistline.)

Easy Cronuts Recipe
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a pan. You want enough oil to cover at least half of your cronut, so this will take quite a bit. I used a small pan so that I could use less oil. It takes longer to do all of the cronut this way, so if you're short on time use more oil in a large pan.
  2. Open your can of croissants and cut them into 1 inch slices. You could do larger. It's totally up to you. You can cut or poke a small hole in the center for the doughnut look.
  3. Mix 1 tbsp. of sugar with 1 tsp. of cinnamon in a bowl. Set aside.
  4. Mix 2 tbsp. (heaping) of powdered sugar with enough water and flavoring to make it a runny glaze. I used raspberry extract. Set aside.
  5. When the oil is hot, gently place as many of the cronut into the pan that will comfortably fit. Let them cook until they are a medium brown and then flip them over.
  6. Remove them from the oil and place on a them plate covered with paper towels to absorb the excess oil.
  7. Roll the cronut in the cinnamon and sugar mixture, place on a plate and drizzle the glaze on top. If you want to add sprinkles or nuts, now would be the time. They won't stick once the glaze has dried.
  8. Repeat until all of the dough is used.
  9. Enjoy! Om nom nom!

My sous chef enjoying her work.

Side note: This goes a lot quicker if you have a helper to do the glazing and sprinkling part while you do the frying.

What a difference a day year makes!

I feel like a drum-roll is in order. This is my first post in over a year. There should be some sort of fanfare. At the very least an elephant parade. Or someone waving sparklers. Something. It's been one heckofa year.

You may or may not have noticed that I'm no longer listed as a SAHM in my profile. Well, that's because I now have a fab new full-time job as the Administrative Assistant at Lincoln Economic Development Authority. (That's a mouthful!) I love it! Zara started pre-school, so I needed something to fill my time and add to the family piggy bank. I feel like I'm helping to make my county a better place and maybe when Zara grows up she won't have to leave or have a giant commute in order to have a great job. Fingers crossed!

In the meantime, I've had to give up the cupcake business because, well, I'd like to see my family at some point. That was a hard decision for me to make, but ultimately it was the right one. Thank you to each and every one of my supporters! You're amazing and I love you. Even if I don't know you, I love you.

The crafting has slowed down. A lot. Now when I make something, it tends to be more meaningful for me. I spend more time thinking about the finished product and making sure it goes well the first time around. Conversely, I'm also more laid-back in my approach. Not saying I was a control freak before, but I was totally a control freak.

Snuggle time! Photo by Sean

We added a puppy to our family. His name is Chauncey and he's a Chipin (half Chihuahua, half miniature Pinscher). He's energetic, sweet as can be, a bit naughty, and he's mine. He claimed me. His jealousy is pretty darn funny. He gets along fairly well with our two cats, Berkeley and Caius. Berkeley puts him in his place. Caius just puts up with him. And then they all cuddle. Soooo sweet!

So, anyway, that's a tiny portion of what's been going on this year. You'll be hearing from me again soon. I promise! Seriously. No joke.
