A Pretty Pink Bracelet

Pretty in Pink

This is a bracelet I made for my aunt a while back.  She had bought me some gorgeous new clothes and I wanted to do something nice for her to thank her. I came up with this little beauty.

Ingredients
  • Tiger tail
  • Toggle clasp
  • Assorted beads
  • Crimp beads (6)
  • Crimp tool
  • Scissors or wire cutters
  • Layout board (optional but helpful)
  • Glue or clear nail polish (optional)

I'm so sorry I don't have step-by-step photos of the process, but I didn't have a craft blog when I made this bracelet. This is easy enough to do, anyway.

Decide how long you want your bracelet to be, including the clasp. Cut three pieces of tiger tail longer than you'll need. You can trim this off later. String a crimp bead onto the tiger tail and pull through one of the clasp ends. Tuck the tiger tail back into the crimp bead, forming a loop through the clasp. Using the crimp tool, crimp your bead. Do the same for the other two pieces of tiger tail.

Using your layout board, figure out how you want your beads to go. I did three distinct, but coordinating, strands. You can do the same for all three strands or just go completely random. It's totally up to you.

String just one strand at a time. Add a crimp bead and do a loop onto the second part of the clasp, just like you did on the first part of the clasp. Both ends of the clasp should be attached at this point. String the beads for the second and third strands, crimping them onto the clasp before going on to the next strand. I like to feed the ends of the tiger tail into the next few beads and then trim off the ends. It hides the ends better.

The bracelet is finished at this point. If you'd like to, add a drop of clear nail polish or Elmer's Glue-All to the insides of the crimp beads for extra strength. This is totally optional.

Sparkly!

These are a lot of fun to do and make great gifts. Or just keep them all to yourself. I won't tell.
