Makeover Monday: Desk Mess to Fabu-less

Pretty embarrassing to pretty organized.

So...I went through a few weeks of not crafting at all. Any guesses why? My poor craft desk had become a catch-all for every little thing that didn't need to be thrown away, but also didn't have a home.

No more!

A Pretty Pink Bracelet

Pretty in Pink

This is a bracelet I made for my aunt a while back.  She had bought me some gorgeous new clothes and I wanted to do something nice for her to thank her. I came up with this little beauty.

A Super Simple Cake Stand

Pretend it's a cake instead of apples.

My newest obsession is making cake stands. And by "cake" stand, I mean "anything that needs to be displayed prettily" stand.  I've scoured stores and found tons of gorgeous ones, but didn't buy a single one. I couldn't help but think that I could do it cheaper. And I did. The one above was done for a grand total of...get this...$2.50. And it was Super Simple. What could be better than that?

Team Mascot Magnet

Go Cats...and get me some groceries!

Iron Craft's challenge this week was definitely challenging for me.  The challenge was "Hometown", which shouldn't be all that hard, but my hometown isn't really known for anything in particular. I copped out and went with my old high school's mascot, the bobcat.

What a Hoot! - Owl Sculpture

A well-read owl.

Way back in December (yeah, we're talking about salt dough again) I made a little owl sculpture and showed a preview of it in the post titled Crafting With Kids. The poor little guy was unfinished up until now.

From Candle Jar To Candy Jar

From candle jar to candy jar. Sweet!

Here's a fact about me. It kills me to throw away candle jars. You know the ones I mean. They're made out of heavy glass and have nifty lids. They're perfect for storage once they're cleaned. And decorated. Of course.

I Heart My Ring

I <3 my ring!
I have a major thing for statement rings. The bigger and funkier, the better. And you know what I love even more? I love, love, love it when they're cheap and easy. This one is so cheap and Super Simple.

Murder on the Dancefloor Ring

Glitter + Skull & Crossbones + Heart + Rhinestone = Awesomeness

Iron Craft's Midas Touch challenge really inspired me. First I made Super Simple Button Earrings and then I cranked out my new favorite thing. It's a ring that I've named "Murder on the Dancefloor" or "Disco Death". Well, who cares what it's called. It's fabulous!

Super Simple Button Earrings

Super Simple super cute button earrings

For a while now (okay, two months or so) I've wanted to join Iron Craft, but, lacked time and motivation. The stars must have aligned for me this week because I was finally able to get it together enough to do this week's challenge, which was Midas Touch. It was about all things gold. Luckily, I already had this project in mind.

Happy Valentine's Day! - hair clips & a card

Zara's getting new hairbows for Valentine's Day. Shh! Don't tell!

So, somewhere around noon yesterday I remembered that tomorrow (today) is Valentine's Day! Eeep! I had so much to do and very little time left. My utter lack of reality bit me in the tushy. It's so hard keeping track of time when every day is pretty much the same. That's my excuse, anyway.

Hands Up If You Like Salt Dough Handprints

Zara's finished salt dough handprint.

Back in December I did a post called Crafting with Kids that showed how to make salt dough. At that time, Zara did a handprint plaque (I may have helped a little). And, yeah, I'm just getting around to posting it. Where did the time go?
