Super Simple Button Earrings

Super Simple super cute button earrings

For a while now (okay, two months or so) I've wanted to join Iron Craft, but, lacked time and motivation. The stars must have aligned for me this week because I was finally able to get it together enough to do this week's challenge, which was Midas Touch. It was about all things gold. Luckily, I already had this project in mind.

Happy Valentine's Day! - hair clips & a card

Zara's getting new hairbows for Valentine's Day. Shh! Don't tell!

So, somewhere around noon yesterday I remembered that tomorrow (today) is Valentine's Day! Eeep! I had so much to do and very little time left. My utter lack of reality bit me in the tushy. It's so hard keeping track of time when every day is pretty much the same. That's my excuse, anyway.

Hands Up If You Like Salt Dough Handprints

Zara's finished salt dough handprint.

Back in December I did a post called Crafting with Kids that showed how to make salt dough. At that time, Zara did a handprint plaque (I may have helped a little). And, yeah, I'm just getting around to posting it. Where did the time go?

Super Simple Slipper Texturing

Performing Twinkle, Twinkle while wearing Elmo boots.

Since we ripped out all the old carpet from our house and installed laminate wood flooring, we discovered something. It's very hard for a toddler to walk on laminate wood flooring. We have bought the socks and the slippers with the rubbery stuff on the bottom. And she has outgrown the socks and slippers with the rubbery stuff on the bottom. We noticed that they tend to be more expensive than regular socks, so I came up with a bit of a "hack". Three words: dimensional fabric paint. Super Simple, right?

Valentine's Day - Free Printables

Valentine's Day is coming up. I'm sure you haven't been able to step foot into a store lately without being hit in the face with that fact. And since Valentine's Day is all about love, I thought I'd spread a little love around. I made a few gifts for you. The images are 8x10 and they print on 8 1/2x11 paper at 100%.  They are for personal use only. Enjoy!

I Heart Valentine's Day: a wreath with a lotta heart.

Happy Valentine's Day! Love, My Front Door

Well, not so much the day itself. But I love, love, love all things pink and over-the-top girly. Valentine's Day is one of those days where I can cover everything in glittery hearts and no one will raise an eyebrow. It's kind of Liberace meets Glinda the Good Witch. Gotta love that. My first project to actually be finished for Valentine's Day is the wreath for my front door. The hook over the door was getting lonely hanging there on it's own since Christmas.

Hail to the Queen Cake!

Orange queen cake with orange glaze and sprinkles.

I just found out something about my husband, Seán. He loves queen cakes. His sister, Sharon, made him some for his seventh birthday and he never forgot them. Those cakes are the pinnacle of all great baked goods for him. Of course, I'm hearing this now after over eight years of marriage. Of course. Having grown up in America and not in Ireland like he did, I had no idea what he was talking about. I grilled him. Of course. Turns out they're just a shorter cupcake with a glaze on top. Easy!
